Whether you are an individual or a business, it is essential to consider a Facebook alternative for iPhone and iPad to protect your privacy and keep your business as usual. Here are our 10 best picks.

1. Twitter: Best alternative for microblogging

Twitter needs no introduction. The app has been in the market for the same time as Facebook, and its popularity has increased tremendously over the years. The platform has now become a hub for the latest news from politicians to celebrities and beyond. Twitter was home to smaller posts, making it quite intriguing to communicate with the ideology of less is more. However, the platform has now evolved to adding images, Fleets (twitter’s version of disappearing stories), and Spaces (Clubhouse-like audio rooms). My favorite part about the app? Scrolling aimlessly through the Trending section. Communicating over the app is also simple, and with Twitter’s unbiased permanent account ban policy, you need not worry about a politician ruining your social media time. Key features:

Sharing your opinions under 280 characters. Hashtags for improved organic visibility.  Retweet option for maximum visibility.  Disappearing stories to share something fast and quick. Audio space for community building.

4. Signal: Most secure Facebook alternative for messaging

How about using an app that Facebook considers as a potential threat as an alternative? Signal managed to get in a tug of war with Facebook lately due to its unreasonable ban on Instagram for an ad campaign that attacked Facebook’s transparency policy.  Signal is an app that is fully encrypted and lets you make phone calls and send messages across the internet. Signal’s popularity increased a hundred folds after WhatApp decided to track user data and people immediately started looking for an alternative to staying connected with their closed people. 10. MeWe: Best privacy-focused Facebook competitor

MeWe is a Facebook alternative that calls itself the next-gen privacy-focused social network. The platform gained 2.5 billion users within a week in January 2021, when WhatsApp’s new privacy policy was trending. The app looks like Facebook has features similar to Facebook, but it doesn’t act like Facebook. The app is ad-free and assures you that it is not selling your data to marketers or advertisers. Moreover, the app offers few extras as a way to earn. This includes emoji packs, storage space, encrypted chats, and more. Thus, making us their customers rather than products. MeWe is a social media app that is fiercely working its way out to increase user privacy. Unlike Facebook’s strict name policy, you can sign up using your pen name on MeWe, as long as you aren’t committing fraud. It gained its initial fame because of the fringe groups, especially Trump supporters, looking for Facebook and Twitter alternatives offering more privacy. But the easy-to-use app and better features managed to make it one of the top free social media apps on the App Store.  The only drawback for the app is that the existing platforms offer many features that it charges for free. So, not many people may opt for it. Key features:

Is Facebook dying?

Facebook accounts for two billion monthly active users, which is way more than the population of many countries put together. So, it is safe to assume that the app is not going anywhere anytime soon.  However, if the rumors of Facebook turning out to be a paid app are true, it is always a good idea to look for alternatives.  I’ll have to admit; different apps serve a different purpose. But as long as they protect my privacy and get the job done, I am all good. Which is your favorite facebook alternative? Let me know in the comments below. You may also like to read:
