I personally enjoy messaging a lot with my friends using WhatsApp. Even after I’m done with conversations, I love to check out the chat history to relive some memorable moments. Unfortunately, I accidentally deleted a message history while using the app a couple of days back. The thought of losing the chat history forever made me really feel sad. However, while trying to get the deleted messages back, I got to know some tricks that allowed me to recover them with ease.
How to Recover Deleted WhatsApp Messages on iPhone
WhatsApp doesn’t store your chat history on its servers. Therefore, it can’t recover any deleted message. Nevertheless, if you have backed up your chat history through iCloud or iTunes you can get them back. (WhatsApp → Settings → Chats → Chat Backup → Back Up Now. Besides, there is an option to enable automatic or scheduled backups. Simply tap on Auto Backup and choose the option as desired. If you want to backup videos as well, simply turn on the switch called Include Videos which is under Auto Backup.) Step #1. In order to recover the deleted chat history, you need to make sure that iCloud backup exists. Simply, head over to WhatsApp Settings → Chats → Chat Backup and find out when the Last Backup was performed. Step #2. Delete WhatsApp from your iPhone. Tap and hold on the app icon, then tap on the “X” which appears when the app will start wiggling. Tap on Delete in the pop-up to confirm. Step #3. Next up, launch App Store. Search WhatsApp and install it. Step #4. Enable Push notifications and on the next screen tap on Agree & Continue. Step #5. You’ll need to verify your phone number which you use for the WhatsApp account. Step #6. Tap on Restore Chat History. Step #7. You shall get all your messages once restore process is done. That’s done! Recover WhatsApp Chat from iPhone Backup If you have backed up your iPhone using iTunes or iCloud, you may be able to recover your chat history. Restore Via iTunes Step #1. Connect iPhone to your Mac or Computer on which you have stored your backup. Step #2. Launch iTunes and click on Files → Devices → Restore from Backup. Step #3. Check out the date and size of each back. Then click Restore. Restore from iCloud Backup You will need to first Erase All Content and Settings as you can restore from iCloud backup only with the use of Set Up Assistant.
